The event was a huge
success! Thanks to everyone for coming out,
participating, and contributing.
In the 1 Mile Run/Walk, Matthew Singh came in
first in the "Male - 12 years & younger" category.
He was followed by Anthony Sarno, Trevor
Forsman, Michael Pronel, and Minaj Booker.
In the "Female - 12 years & younger" 1 Mile Run/Walk,
Maddie McClelland came in 1st place, followed by
Caitrin Hall, Julia Forsman, Anna
Francisco, and Melanie Buckley.
Mark Mellea of Manchester won the Male-portion of
the D.A.R.E. Classic 5K with a time of 18
minutes, 13 seconds. One second later, 2-time
D.A.R.E. Classic 5K winner Chris Peters of
Barnegat crossed the finish line. Anthony Sarno
of Forked River came in 3rd place, with a time of 18:32.
In the female 5K Race, Eva Panko of Millstone
Township crossed the finish line first with a time of 21
minutes, 29 seconds. 2nd place went to Lee
Dashti of Lanoka Harbor, who completed the course in
22:25. With a time of 22:30, Ashley Napoli
of Forked River came in 3rd place.
Within the next few days, the Berkeley D.A.R.E. Classic
5K
Record Book will be updated with complete results in
all categories and age groups. Be sure to stop
back and check it out!

Welcome to our site. We are once again having a great
D.A.R.E. year here in Berkeley Township. Currently the
students are learning the dangers of tobacco and marijuana.
They are also working very hard on the Anti-Tobacco Posters
for our contest. We will post the winners soon.
In other news, the
D.A.R.E. Classic 5K
preparation continues. Please see information below, or
click on the links to the left for more information
regarding the Race. If you have any questions,

D.A.R.E. Classic Becomes
A USATF-Sanctioned Event |

Beginning this year, the
D.A.R.E.
Classic 5K
is a USATF-Sanctioned
Race, which means it conforms to the USA Track &
Field's standards for competition and safety.
In addition, it ensures that the course is
accurately and professionally measured, and it is nationally certified
in the event that a record time is set during the race.

The 3rd Annual
D.A.R.E. Classic 5K Race and 1 Mile Run/Walk is
officially scheduled for Saturday, May 10, so please keep
your calendar open!
We will have a NEW
1 Mile Run/Walk course
this year. We are also INCREASING the number of
medals
given out for the 1 Mile Run/Walk from Top 3 to Top 5 male and female.
The 5K Race and 1 Mile Run/Walk will be held at Veterans Park
in Bayville N.J.
The 1 Mile Run/Walk starts
at 9 AM, with the 5K following at 9:30 AM.
Children and families are encouraged to attend and enjoy the day.
Once again, all participants will receive a T-shirt and can
eat all the food they want. There will be music and
plenty of fun things
for everyone to do.
Registration is easy. Just print a
copy of the
Registration Form
from this site, or pick one up at the Berkeley Recreation
Center on Rt. 9 in Bayville. Once you fill it out,
just send it
back or drop it off personally. You can also register on
the day of the race.
