The 3rd Annual D.A.R.E. 5K
Race and 1 Mile Run/Walk is presented by the Berkeley Township
Police D.A.R.E. Program and the Berkeley Township Municipal
Alliance, in conjunction with the
Ocean Running Club.
The race will be run, rain or shine.

Beginning this year, the
D.A.R.E.
Classic 5K
became a USATF-Sanctioned
Race, which means it conforms to the USA Track & Field's
standards for competition and safety. In addition, it
ensures that the course is accurately and professionally
measured, and it is nationally certified in the event that a
record time is set during the race.

All proceeds from the D.A.R.E. Classic will directly benefit
the Berkeley Township D.A.R.E. Program, Municipal Alliance
and, ultimately, the children of the community.
The event is being held at Veterans Park
in Bayville N.J., and will be run on a relatively flat and fast paved course.
The 1 Mile
Run/Walk will start at 9 AM, with the 5K following at 9:30 AM.
Children and families are encouraged to attend and enjoy the day we
have planned. In addition to the races, there will be food,
music,
raffles, and activities for children. Please see our

An awards ceremony will be held after the races. Trophies and
Medals will be given out to top finishers in many age categories.
